SUMMARY:CDBG Public Hearing
DESCRIPTION:Public Hearings Notice\nCounty of Grafton\nCommunity Development Block Grants\nThe Grafton County Commissioners will hold 2 public hearings on October 17th, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at the Grafton County Complex at 3855 Dartmouth College Road North Haverhill NH 03774 in the second-floor conference room. The purpose of the first public hearing is to discuss an application to the NH Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA) under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.\nCDBG funds are awarded on a competitive basis in New Hampshire and may be used for projects that have primary benefits to low- and moderate-income (LMI) people. A municipality can apply for up to $500,000 in CDBG funds per year in each of the following categories: housing, public facilities, economic development, and emergency grants. A municipality can apply for up to $750,000 in funds in the microenterprise technical assistance category. Municipalities can also apply for up to $25,000 annually for feasibility studies and up to $100,000 in Transformational Planning Grant funds.\nThe proposal to be considered by the Commissioners is for a Transformational Planning Grant application for up to $100,000. The funds, less administrative costs, will be sub-granted to one or more agencies to advance planning activities in efforts to facilitate development activity designed to increase housing supply. This public hearing has been scheduled to provide residents with specific information regarding the grant requirements. A second public hearing will be held to adopt the Relocation and Anti-Displacement Plan specific to the project.\nThose interested are invited to attend and comment. Please contact the Grafton County Commissioners’ Office (603) 787-6941 or via Relay NH at 1-800-735-2964 in advance if you have a disability or need assistance to attend or participate in the hearing. Anyone wishing to submit written comments before the hearing should address them to the Grafton County Commissioners, Grafton County Complex at 3855 Dartmouth College Road North Haverhill, NH 03774, or email snorcross@graftoncountynh.gov.\n
