Good Morning America recently featured Property Fraud Alert and educated millions of viewers on how scammers attempt to steal people’s homes. Prosecutors say this type of fraud is alarmingly easy to perpetrate, and for the victims, the consequences can be devastating.

Their story emphasized the importance of staying vigilant and how many counties across the nation offer their constituents a Property Fraud Alert service to make that possible.

The Grafton County Registry of Deeds’ recording desk is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:00AM-3:30PM for the purposes of recording a document or obtaining a copy.

The Registry of Deeds Office processes information as it relates to the buying and selling of real property. The recording of important documents is one of the oldest functions performed by government. The recording process is mandated and governed by the law of the State of New Hampshire. The data base of the Grafton County Registry of Deeds contains over 5 million images of documents, and over 30,000 images of subdivision plans and surveys. Only copies obtained from the official Registry of Deeds records are considered to be the official public record.
